Skillbond Introduction to Digital Scanning & Design
Educational Aims and Objectives
The main objective of this introductory course is to guide the delegate through the process of digital scanning & basic unit design offered by major manufacturers leading the profession through digital dentistry.
The delegate will have the unique opportunity to select the most ideal digital solution to suit their own laboratory working requirements and to gain all relevant product and technical information based on the initial practical hands-on expertise offered by this course.
An additional unique digital experience will be offered to the delegate to complete the digital process through to the manufacturing process to produce restorations with the highest consistent degree of accuracy.
With this basic theoretical and practical knowledge-base, each delegate will be equipped to make an informed choice to take the 'First Step to Digital Scanning & Design'.
Anticipated Educational Outcomes
Delegates completing this course will immediately be able to digitise their daily laboratory work routine and use a digital manufacturing option to produce restorations in crown and bridge dental technology involving digitally produced frameworks.
The technical schedule, outlining the basic key principles with a unique selection of scanner equipment offers differing scanning and designing software processes which will help the delegate to attain a basic level of technical experience to ensure subsequent patient satisfaction.
Quality Control and Documentary Proof
There will be no formal assessment other than a standard evaluation form which must be completed by each delegate and logged within our quality management system to qualify as verifiable CPD in accordance with GDC guidelines.
On successful completion of this introductory course the delegate will receive a signed Argen Digital Certificate.
Each delegate is expected to gain knowledge of the following subjects presented:
The Digital Process
Scanning & Designing
Questions and Next Steps
3Shape Scan & Design Course Level 1
The main objective of this Level 1 course is to guide the delegate through the first steps of scanning and designing in 3Shape software. The delegate will spend the day using the software to design a range of basic crown and bridge products to a competent level.
Minimum thickness coping
Full contour crown
Full contour bridge
Includes Mirroring teeth
3Shape Scan & Design Course Level 2
The main objective of this Level 2 course is to guide the delegate through the intermediate steps of scanning and designing in 3Shape software. The delegate will spend the day using the software to design a range of intermediate products to a competent level. (Must have completed Level 1 Course or be confident in designing the above).
Night guards & B.R.A.
3Shape Scan & Design Course Level 3
The main objective of this advanced implant abutment course is to educate the delegate
through the process of 3Shape advance implant design. (Must have completed Level 1 and 2 Courses or be confident in designing the above).
The delegate will have the opportunity to design Implant abutments, gain the technical knowledge and expertise offered by this course. From a practical hands on experience and theoretical demonstration offered by a 3Shape expert. This will allow the delegate to apply the processes within their own laboratory.
